That dreaded phone call...
By now, many of you reading this know someone close to you that has tested positive for the Covid-19 virus. That notification is not an easy thing to hear.
For me, it was yesterday. I got a call from the healthcare facility taking care of a close family member.
At first, I didn't really have any reaction at all. I took the news as I had every other time I heard a report of someone testing positive.
But as time went on, I began to experience something different. I questioned whether or not I have taken this virus far too lightly. I began to wonder what is in store for her. And I really feel guilty that she has to experience this alone. I can't even go see her.
Searching for answers, and some comfort, I came across this article published by the University of Michigan Counseling and Psychological Services department.
It helped me so I now share it in the hopes it helps you too.
